Camp sites are being held under the DOGWOOD name.  Standard sites are $72.00 a night plus tax or you can choose a patio site for $82.00 per night plus tax.  Our reserved sites will be held through Oct 15.  After that, they will be released back to the campground.

November Update.

This is our current Agenda:

 

Thursday: 4 pm. bring heavy hors d’oeuvres to share

 

Friday: Free until 4 for happy hour  (*we are asking attendees to bring a light hors d’oeuvres to share)

Followed by a lasagna dinner and dessert at 5ish

We thought it would be fun to play a game of 'Left, Right and Center'  Bring $3 ones a piece to play this fun game and possibly win some $$

 

Saturday:  A full breakfast at 9, bring your coffee, breakfast will be followed by a business meeting

Free time until 4 for happy hour *(we are asking attendees to bring a light hors d’oeuvres to share)

Followed by a ham dinner at 5ish and dessert

Each rig is encouraged to bring a $25 wrapped gift per RIG for the Yankee exchange

 

*If your last name begins with A- L bring a light hors d’oeuvres Friday 

*If your last name begins with M-Z bring a light hors d’oeuvres Saturday

 

Sunday morning, we will have a continental breakfast, which will culminate out Christmas Rally

Happy Fall!!  Hope everyone is  enjoying the cooler beauty of fall!  Time has gone by so quickly and we don't want you to forget to RSVP for the Christmas Rally.  

 

It will be held at Rockahock Campground and officially begin on Friday night, Dec 5 for dinner.  That said, most Dogwooders come Thursday night, and we will get together in the Pavilion for hors d’oeuvres.  Please bring something to share and your favorite beverage.  

 

Your hosts, the Kuikens, Hills, Hunters, and Warrens, will provide a lasagna dinner Friday night, followed by a game of “Left-Right-Center”.  Please bring 3 $1 bills each to participate. 

 

Saturday morning your hosts will provide a full breakfast.  

 

Saturday night is our annual Christmas Party, your hosts will provide a ham dinner.  This will be followed by a crazy night of Yankee gift exchange.  Please bring a wrapped gift valued at $25 per rig to participate.  This always gets a little crazy!!  I am really enjoying the beautiful quilt I won last year made by Mary Lou.

 

Sunday morning your hosts will provide a continental breakfast!

 

Please RSVP by Thanksgiving and reserve your campsite soon.  Half of the reserved sites are being released today (Oct 1st) and the remainder will be released on Oct 31st.  

 

The cost is $25 per person for the weekend and for children under 12, $12.50.

Dogwood Christmas Rally - 2024

Greetings Dogwood Members!!

 

It is almost time for our annual Dogwood Christmas Rally and here is the latest information.

Rally Dates:  December 6-8, 2024

The rally officially starts on Friday December 6.  For those arriving early, we plan an informal potluck dinner with heavy hors d’oeuvres on Thursday at 5:00 in the pavilion.

 

We currently have 19 confirmed coaches.

     Alexander, Allen, Brooks, Buelow, Dudziak, Greene, Greenwood, Herbert, Hill, Hunter, Kuiken, Kuppert, Meyer, Nixon, Robison, Schoolar, Tenny, Torrence, and Warren.  The Tilmans will join us for Saturday only.

 

If you are registered with the campground and not on the list of attendees, please contact one of the hosts to let us know. There has been some confusion as there is another club there the same weekend.  If you have not registered with the campground, and wish to attend the Christmas Rally, please call the campground as soon as possible and also contact one of the hosts to let us know you are coming.  We would love to have you there!

 

Rally Fee:  The rally fee is $25 per person, payable at the rally.

If you find that you will not be attending, PLEASE let us know as soon as possible, as we will be buying food for the exact number of attendees.

1:00 p.m.     Financial Audit Committee meeting (Pat, Sonia, Robi, Berkley, Jim)

2:30 p.m.     Membership Reconciliation Committee meeting (Pat, Sonia, Jean, Mary Lou, Dave, Jim) 

4:30 p.m.     Happy Hour in the pavilion (BYOB)

5:00 p.m.     Dinner:  Spaghetti with red sauce or alfredo sauce, salad, bread, and dessert

After Dinner Games:  Bingo.  Cards will be sold at reasonable rates 😎

 

Saturday, December 7  (50/50 Raffle ticket sales will be going on at brunch and dinner)

 

9:30 a.m.     Brunch in the pavilion:  Eggs, bacon, fruit, sausage gravy & biscuits, juice, and coffee

10:45 a.m.   Group picture.  Please wear your Dogwood t-shirt or sweatshirt.

11:00 a.m.   Business meeting.  Everyone please plan to attend.  The agenda will be sent separately.

4:30 p.m.     Happy Hour in the pavilion (BYOB)

5:00 p.m.     Dinner:  Ham, pineapple/cheese casserole, green beans, mashed potatoes, salad, rolls, biscuits, and dessert

6:30 p.m.     50/50 Raffle drawing

7:00 p.m.     Yankee Swap gift exchange.  Connie Tilman will be our Master of Ceremonies.  Bring one gift per coach (not a gag gift), valued at $25.  This is always a fun time with gifts being admired and stolen from others.

8:30 a.m.     Continental breakfast:  Cinnamon rolls, coffee, and leftovers.

Camp sites are being held under the DOGWOOD name.   Standard sites which are pull through are $58.00 a night Friday and Sat. and $48.00 Sunday -Thursday (all plus tax) and that is what is mostly close to the pavilion.  We do have patio sites and they are $68 Friday and Sat and $58.00 Sunday -Thursday.

9:30 am – 11:30 am – (Option 1) – Stampin’ Up! Card class hosted by FMCA guest Patti Jean Warren, to make 6 cards, 2 each of 3 designs.  Everything you need will be provided and you will have a great creative time!!  $15 per person. Please email host Lynn at LNVB1956@outlook.com if interested so Patti Jean can prepare packets.

        9:30 am –12:00 pm - (Option 2) - Pickle ball lessons and free play

 

1:00 pm – Cookie swap in Rally room.  1 dozen by each coach.  Please provide recipes and your choice of beverage.  ½ dozen will be packaged for take home. And ½ dozen will be used for evening desserts.

 

         5:00 pm - Social - hors d'oeuvres provided by each coach

 

6:00 pm - Dinner – BBQ brought in from Pierces BBQ.  Coaches to provide side dishes.  See the link below for the Sign up sheet. Just let us know what you plan to bring, so we have a great variety of sides.

 

         7:00 pm - Games inside rally room and possible caroling.

Remember this Is the first weekend for The Grand Illumination in Colonial Williamsburg.  If you plan to attend, it has been suggested you arrive early to get parking. Shuttles are also available from the Visitors Center.

In the Welcome Packets there will be discount coupons for the Premium Outlet Center for the shoppers in our group.

IMPORTANT

 

The Dogwood Christmas Rally will be held at the American Heritage Campground, in Williamsburg VA, December 1-3, 2023.

 

It is the Grand Illumination weekend in Williamsburg and the campground expects to be 100% full.  They are holding 21 sites for Dogwood, 7 have been taken already.  After our 21 sites are taken, it will be first come, first served.  No site numbers have been assigned yet.  They are going to try and get us as close to the rally room as possible.

 

As soon as possible, please take a moment to register with American Heritage at (757) 566-2133.  Mention the Dogwood block.

 

Rally details will be published later but if you haven’t already registered with the campground, please do so now.  This is kind of important.
